Today is the first day of the weekend. First day of our holiday in Surigao. Just like yesterday, our agenda still about having some tours. Unlike in the past two days which we’re having the campus tour, today we’re going to have the city tour and I’m so excited! Because, I’m going to visit and see some of Surigao’s best spot which oftenly visited by Surigao citizen.

Our first city spot is Surigao’s Mosque. It only took 5-10 minutes to visit the mosque. As Indonesian which known as one of the biggest moslem population in the world, I’m personally so excited to visit the one and only mosque in Surigao, cause on the 18th August, we’re going to celebrate Aidil Adha (The day of sacrifice to God), and we’re so happy to have mosque which not far from our dorm, so we can celebrate Aidil Adha with other moslems in Surigao. During our visit to the mosque, we met one of moslem who taking care the mosque or known as “takmir” in bahasa. We’re having a fun chat with him because he’s the first moslem that we’ve ever met, we’re also discussing about moslem’s living in Surigao and some Philippine’s current issue that related to islam.

After visiting mosque, our second city spot is the Luneta Park, it’s located in at the downtown of Surigao city, right in front of Saint Paul University main campus. In Luneta Park, we can find some street food sellers, playground for kids and the iconic statue of Dr. Jose Rizal which is recognized by the filippinos as their National heroes, but unfortunately it’s only recognized by the filippinos citizen, not their president.
After visiting Luneta Park, we’re going back to the bus and proceed to our next Surigao’s spot, which is the Sea Port or Surigao’s harbour. Actually, we’re supposed to visit the beach, but unfortunately the whether is not allowing us to go to the beach. So we’re just going to the sea port and taking some pictures at the “I Love Surigao” iconic letters.

Since it’s starting rain, we’re decide to go back to the new site campus, but before we’re going back to the new site, we’re going to Gaisano mall again for groceries shopping, and bought some cake at the Red Ribbon store for Kiki’s birthday, because today is Kiki’s birthday. After went from Gaisano mall, as usual we’re taking our lunch and also dinner. And when it comes at the midnight, we’re preparing to surprise Kiki, and we did! We’re successfully surprise Kiki by knocking on her door at the midnight and give her cakes with two pink candles on it while we sing happy birthday song. And that’s how we end our delightful Saturday with full of fun and joy as sisters and family with different background.
